How to kill backup assistant nag video on PC connectionSupport

Even though I have the mostly worthless Backup Assistant installed, every time I plug into my PC via USB my browser opens up a cheery informational video about it that plays out like a f***ing antidepressant commercial and asks me if I want to install it. Whether I say yes or no the sh*t comes up again the next time I plug into my PC. On the Incredible I used to be able to dial ##7764726 like f***ing MacGyver and disable "CD Rom" in the feature settings screen, no such useful secret option here. suggestions? God verizon sucks.

I've been working with HTC and Verizon to disable BUA to stop the nag screen too. No joy. Rezound usb HTC Syncing with Outlook 2007 Calendar and Contacts on a Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit PC.

On your pc in the system tray (BOTTOM RIGHT) there should be a verizon icon that pops up when it mounts. If you right click that there is an option you can click on to uncheck.

there never was a taskbar icon, but now it has magically stopped doing it.

The phone is lemony in other ways- now the browser occasoinally tells me my internet connection is off even though I'm connected to wi-fi and mobile network, until I go in and out of airplane mode to reset it.

this is a common problem to all these phones, data connection is very flaky when shifting from wifi to cell network. fyi: the Bionic was worse, that POS had to be rebooted between.

    Is what it is.

And it "is" a bug. My Incredible never had this problem.

I read somewhere on here that changing the Data Roaming policy to "Allow access for all trips" helps the signal lock better, and it seems to work for now. Just have to remember to turn that off when I leave the country.

Honestly this phone is a disappointment after the Incredible. All of the bloatware upselling by Verizon is super annoying, like "I will not renew my Verizon contract" annoying, and this waiting game for ICS (after I was told by a rep that it would be here last weekend) just adds insult to injury for Verizon customers.

Maybe someone's job at Verizon is to search for the phrase "Verizon sucks," well, here it is: Verizon sucks. Push the f***ing update and give me control over what apps are on my phone. Windows would be hit with a class action lawsuit if it installed commercial applications the user couldn't remove; I don't see why a smartphone is any different and I don't think a judge would either.
