how to run downloaded Android applications without wireless connection?

I have downloaded some games/applications onto my Android smartphone. I wonder how I can run Android applications without wireless connection, for example on a airplane flight? Most of them gives me a network error when I try to open them without wireless connection. but I do not think they really need network connection in order to run after download, for example some of them just are kids math/drawing games..

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but your options are really
*Complain to the developer and ask to have that fixed in a new version.
*Look for similar apps that don't have that limitation.

Take a close look at what permissions are required to run the app in question. Many of these so called "free" apps are "free" for the enduser so long as they can access your location, your data metrics and carrier specifics for targeted advertising purposes.

Seems odd though - I haven't run into a game yet that wouldn't run behind DroidWall and AdFree, unless it was something with a clear need for internet access as part of the game. Maybe the games just check to see whether there is an active connection, and blocking them from actually transferring anything doesn't disrupt things in the same way that lack of a connection does?

What are some of the specific games you see this with?
