I have a Samsung vibrant. Somehow I turned on a switch that announces "one new email" every time new email arrives at my gmail account. Now I can't find the switch that turns it off! <g>

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Unless you used a 3rd party program to do that, go to GMail>Menu>Settings and choose notification ringtone as silent or whatever you want.

I checked the Gmail notifications. It notifies me of new email, but it has no voice setting.

So somewhere, there's an app that's reading aloud notifications on the notification panel. That's a useful clue.

    Thanks!
