HP Buys Palm for $1.2 Billion, But What Does it Mean for Android?

There had been a bit of speculation that acquisition-hungry Google may consider buying the flailing Palm. That was probably just wishful thinking, similar to the rumors that HTC may have a go at the company but later stated they had little interest in taking over where webOS had left off. The PC market is changing. People say by 2014 most people will access social sites and use the web on mobile devices. Laptops and home pc's will have their places, but for casual and quick use it will be the mobile communication devices, which are what PDA/smart phones are.

HP also needed a phone to compete with Dell. This is a good decision on HP's part IMO.
