    Hi all,

Recently had an accident with my HTC desire (dropped it) and broke the LCD screen.

I bought the handset about 2 months ago, but didnt take the insurance (bad times)..

I sourced a new one on the web, but after placing the order, i am now unsure as to whether the new screen will be compatible..

Could someone please view the link and let me know if it will work???

    All help appreciated :)

That's just the lcd. If the glass is broke you will need a new digitizer as well. It's probably cheaper to get HTC to repair it

Too true. Plus changing either one will void the warranty which you may need later

    hi
i too have broken my screen (digitizer if fine)
but being in new zealand there isnt really any HTC agents that i can ask to fix it for me.
i looked at your link and think i may go the route of buying that, and have a go at replacing it myself.

what did you end up doing?

HTC Desire Google G5 Nexus One N1 LCD Display Screen

I bought the LCD screen from the above site.. it came from Hong Kong and delivery took around 10 days to the UK..

I must admit, changing the screen was far more fiddly than others I have done..

not difficult, it just requires a bit of patience and steady hands. Phone is now running as new, although, as mentioned earlier, doing it yourself does void the warranty, something worth considering.

However, all in all, pleased with the outcome. Just be sure to be careful if you decide to do it yourself..

    Hope this helps :)

I don't suppose you made some notes when you did the replacement.

i have replaced both the LCD and on another occasion the front screen, is more difficult than that?
