htc desire problem?

Is anyone else having problems with phone. When I receive a call my screen is usually locked. Message tells me to scroll down to receive call or scroll up to deny call. I scroll down - I can hear the person on the other end but they cannot hear me and end up hanging up. I then have to ring them back. Did a test run just before and after about 10 hellos we finally connected. Problem is that not everyone will wait for 10 hellos!

Hmm mine and my bfriends work fine; I end up answering 99% of my incoming calls that way to.

Do you have any software installed that interfere's with call pickup in anyway?
