Yep now the question is can sprint keep it going. They need to restock fast and advertise like Motorola did with Droid.

    yayyy to EVO's success,

Sprint said that shipments would be going out DAILY across the US to fill demand so it sounds like they have plenty still in warehouse and can produce fast enough... this phone is a SUCCESS!!!!! i'm very very very surprised since there were no commercials until launch

A guy on another forum I post on just got an Evo today - so there are still some out there. They just took it down from the website for now.

I consider myself lucky. I went in to look at it and after playing around with it for about two minutes decided I HAD to have it.

The customer(s) before me, a guy and his friend, bought four of them. When I got up to the counter I asked if they had any left and she went in back. After a nerve racking 30 seconds she came back and said they had one left.

Fair Oaks Mall, VA Sprint Store shoppers: I got your last EVO. :p

    Congrats to Sprint,

but regardless if they sold 200,000 or 600,000 or a million EVO's, it seems that they dropped the ball on not having ordered alot to avoid being out of stock. Come on Sprint, its your first big 4G phone, with 95% of the media praising it before its release, how could you not know it was going to run out. Shame on you Sprint.

Buy yea for us who got them. :D

idk i tend to think a phone this big of a scale it would have been hard to avoid selling out... the iphone has this problem too, anything OVERLY popular just sells out

Yea TS, but if they sold 200,000 (I think thats a conservative guess) at a cost of probably $400 to them that's $80,000,000 in overhead on a prayer that it all works out. Its hard to anticipate demand and not over extend yourself.

There were a couple prime time network ads over the weekend (at least here in the NYC area). They didn't really push the phone just 4G then they named the phone and showed a quick picture of it.

Really I would have been more surprised if Sprint had had enough units for the rush.

As far as I'm aware, this is their most successful phone to date and there's really no way they could have predicted demand being this high.

Congrats to Sprint and I hope all of the extra cash they're raking in with the $10 fee helps them get their 4G towers up with a quickness.

While activating the EVO via telephone yesterday - a recording among the phone prompts stated that the EVO's were no longer available on-line due to availability.

The email I received from Sprint a few weeks ago said that they have been "over 460,000" EVO's pre-sold.

Then it is reasonable to assume that at least that amount was sold..

Actually, HTC is the culprit. They can't manufacture fast enough for all Droid devices.

It sold out as far as sell in to channels, but a lot of Sprint and RS stores still have them. BB has ran out in most stores, but mainly due to Sprint stores getting the motherload of the allocations.

I believe the number that they are referring to is what was sold via Radio Shack, Best Buy, Walmart and EVP, I do not think it includes the numbers sold to corporations. But I could be wrong.
