I recently did the ICS upgrade (4.04) and the default settings (I presume - since I never remember having that setting on the previous version) for the WiFi are to turn off while asleep. I was wondering why, after the update, that whenever I woke the phone up, that the WiFi was not active, and would start up. Over the weekend, I discovered the rude way. While asleep, the OS had downloaded 475MB over the 3G connection, even though the phone was at home all weekend and within range of the WiFi connection. That, and my use of internet radio (which is used while the phone is in sleep mode) blew through my entire data allowance in one weekend. How F*#ked is that? Why did Optus allow it to ship in that configuration? I'm really pissed.
