It would have to go through the FCC. Wouldn't it?

Would it? I am sure other parts (such as capacitors, speakers, etc) have a couple of sources that HTC uses, which doesn't require FCC documentation. As long as the replacement screen matches the previous specifications, there should be no need for changing any FCC docs..

I just got a replacement incredible because I shattered my screen, this new one has a slightly pinkish hue thinking about getting it replaced. would it be in my best interest to wait untill the switch to SLCD or do it asap before the switch?

Well, HTC changed screens on the EVO with no notice, so why not this?

someone made very bad biz decisions .
    Samsung for burning bridges or
htc for not locking in screen production units.
hope no one commits suicide over it

Yes, I read the mix of both screens as well. Still sucks that it's a crapshoot at this point. But htc is in a bind, they have to get these out to these out based on demand and waiting orders.

I'm a fan of AMOLED screens. Granted outdoors it's weak, but when indoors, LCD has nothing on it.

Good riddance. Now, they can change their Sense UI to have some black text on white.

AMOLED consumes more energy displaying whites. Maybe thats why I get horrible battery life (reading lots of email). LOL.

As above posters said, AMOLED looks far better indoors.

As for power consumption, that's not really a major factor. Nothing like the signal issue.

So very true, I love my AMOLED. And lets be completely honest here the majority of my use is indoor use and I think that holds true for the average user.

I'm feeling pretty left out now...

Plus if they put out a new higher resolution screen what does that mean for our sense updates?

Screens devour a LOT of the phone's energy, so I would say it IS an issue
