HTC is confusing me.

how can sense on a sensation xl run just as smoothly as touchwiz on the gs2 and it only is a single core 1.5 ghz and less ram. it even runs smoother than the other sense 3 devices such as the sensation and EVO 3D and these are duel cores with more ram (evo). as we all know sense 3 is a hog, how is this possible that it runs as fast as touchwiz on a phone with the best hardware ?

Because that's what users expect? Manufacturers would be pretty stupid to ship devices with a UI that gave a less-than-satisfactory user experience.

Seriously, what point are you trying to make here? TW runs fine on a GS2 using only one of its two cores, so I'm not surprised Sense does the same on a single-core @1.5GHz.

Dual core does not mean its using both cores to run everything. It just means it can process more instructions at the same time because both cores will be processing a different set every time.

All Sensation models are dual core. The Sensation XL is just clocked at Qualcomm's stock rating for the chip, which is 1.5 GHz. The non-XL Sensation and Evo 3D are underclocked to 1.2 GHz, but are both dual core.

my question is how can you have several different duel core devices running sense 3 and yet the responsiveness and speed of the xl is so good that it runs like a gs2 with touchwiz meaning that It's far superior to its duel core equivalents even though it has less ram and is not a duel core.

Hmm...so it is. And HTC has no info on the XL on their website. That's strange. But it could just be that the higher clock on the single core allows it to process the UI faster than a slower clocked dual core. My second processor on my Evo 3D stays shut off more often than not. I don't think the UI uses both cores.

Fluidity of an interface is not always directly reflected in processor speed. A highly optimized GPU will do much more for the smoothness of the graphics than even doubling the CPU speed. Take the iPhone as an example. Apple actually underclocks their processors to conserve power and still have a very smooth UI most do to GPU optimization.
