I am being offered an HTC one m8 very cheaply as it is stuck on fastboot menu. The guy selling it says while updating the phone turned off and its been stuck there since. Should I buy the phone? Is it possible to fix it?

On the screen it says this:

*** Software status: Official ***
*** LOCKED ***
MS_WHL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-INVALID_VER_INFO
RADIO-INVALID_VER_INFO
OpenDSP-INVALID_VER_INFO
OS-4.20.651.10
eMMC-boot 2048MB

FASTBOOT AC

<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next item
<POWER> to select item

HBOOT
RAMDUMP
REBOOT
REBOOT FASTBOOT
POWER DOWN

Yep.

It lost power during a firmware update so it's in pretty rough shape.

Get the Mini-SDK, unzip the sdk-tools.zip, open a command window in the sdk-tools folder (shift+right click on that folder after unzipping in Windows Explorer) - plug the phone into pc so it says FASTBOOT USB mode on the phone.

In the command window say -

fastboot getvar all

Alt+shift in the command window to get to the menu, edit, copy all and paste here - be sure to remove meid and serial numbers.
