HTC one s, videos from whatsapp not visible in gallery

Hi,
Would appreciate if you could guide me on the following issue:
When I receive any videos on either whatsapp or through emails, after downloading and viewing them I presumed that they were saved under my gallery. But I am unable to see any videos under my gallery. Are these deleted or are they saved on the phone but Im unable to see them? Are there any changes reqd under settings to view them?

Please advise.
