Hi, I am new to the forum and would like some opinons.

I am trying to choose between a HTC Incredible and the Droid 2. I know they are both fast, but which is faster? Also the 8 MP vs 5 MP and I don't think the HTC shoots in 720, but not sure. I do know the HTC pics are great.

I just bought the HTC a couple days ago and love the layout and basiclly everything about it except one and most important thing. It does not have enough volume on the ringer and doesn't have the vibration I expected. My old razor or Lg wasn't a smartphone but sure had the ringer volume and vibrate! lol I missed a very important call yesterday that just ruinned my entire day. I was on my motorcycle, but could alway feel and sometimes hear my old phones, but not this one.

I know my old Motorola Razor v3 had a loud ringer and strong vibrator and hope the Droid 2 will aslo. The little green bar is wide open on the volume. Since I just bought it and not familiar with it yet, maybe I might be missing something. Probably just wishful thinking ! Lol! I do love it and a couple of people said the speed is the same as the Droid2, but I've got to be able to hear and feel it or it's useless.

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

HTC Desire has 720p after updating to 2.2 Not sure if incredible will also get the same treatment.

I think it will boil down to whether you like having a physical keyboard or not. Both machines have similar specs.

Personally I would go for MOTO. Their hardware is just plain better. Better signal, better battery, better physical construction quality. Also I really don't like sense personally and it does cause some problems with some apps (they state in the description they will not work on a phone with HTC sense)

On the other side, MOTO has decided to put MOTOblur on android phones now and for the most part I don't like it, the only thing I like is the Blur camera, but I guess sense has it's advantages also. Also MOTO has decided to lock the bootloader so if you like custom ROMS you may want to steer clear of MOTO.

I would recommend the Droid X though. If you are looking at the incredible you obviously do not need a physical keyboard. The size isn't bad at all, I thought it would bother me, but it doesn't, I actually really like the size after getting used to it. Also in recent testing the X has the best battery life of any current smartphone. Plus it takes awesome pictures.

There have been complaints about ring volume on the X, but it is much louder after updating to Froyo.

Thanks snapper. I kinda like the virtual keyboard and I hope the Incredible gets the update too. Do you know of a download that would increase the ringer volume and a possibly a stronger vibrater?

I agree, this is a key consideration that deserves more than just a quick thought.

That said, and as someone who was positively addicted to a physical BlackBerry keyboard, I'm now a very happy, fast, accurate message composer, thanks to SWYPE.

It came preloaded on my Samsung Captivate, and I've grown to really enjoy and rely on this brilliant input alternative to a physical keyboard. I handle over 30 to 40 rather lengthy emails per day on my Captivate all quite easily due to Swype.

In addition, the true key to learning it quickly, is to view these 2 min. videos'
Swype | Text Input for Screens

They also make you aware of all the extra things Swype can do, that you probably would not discover on your own.

I've tried every other Android Keyboard app to date, and nothing compares to Swype in my opinion.

Thanks for the help, the 2.2 is sounding better since it has more volume! Also I believe it's in 720 hd.

Yeah I love my keyboard, but a louder ringer volume is crucial. Wonder if I can download something to give more volume?

Here's a mod, that you do _not_ have to be rooted to use.

I just tried it and the results were very good.

Please let us know how it works for you.
