HTC sensation 4g constantly stuck in "sync" since ICS updateSupport

Since (unfortunately) updating to ICS (which I assume is Android 4.0.3) the "sync" button on the top status bar is constantly on. At first I thought it was just downloading my texts, but I deleted all of those, and even went through turning off that Mobile Life contacts sync w/ people on the troubleshooting line. Has anyone had this problem?

It's killing my battery and making everything run slow since its constantly "syncing." At this point I'm ready to bite the bullet and either do a factory restore or see if I revert to the pre-ICS version I was using.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

thanks. just checked and I don't have fb as one of the accounts that are on auto-sync. I just have google, twitter, weather, and that stupid mobile life contacts thing that I said to unsync but which still does.....

Did you do a factory reset after the update? I had problems similar to yours and I decided to factory reset and everything fixed itself.

actually still haven't done the factory reset bc I was hoping to avoid doing that so I didn't lose my settings and app data. But it looks like that may be my only began moving everything to my SD card to prepare for my only option.

This may be another thread topic entirely, but if I just move alll my apps, contacts, texts, and pics to the SD card and then do the reset I should be good, right? I know I'll need to re-do the settings but don't want to lose anything....

Have you tried turning the sync off in settings? if you set it to manually sync you might be able to stop this problem... on my leedroid sensation 4.0.3 the option to do that was something like:

settings>accounts & sync> "turn auto sync on - off" if its not there you can always go into each app that is syncing and set the schedule differently.

honestly you dont even have to do that with the sd card, those things can all be backed up with your gmail account, htc account etc.

Thanks KJohns. Yeah I tried that and it seems to work, but then I don't get email/twitter/etc notifications. Unfortunately I jumped the gun and got impatient, and just went ahead and did a factory restore of my phone. Still have the auto-sync thing now but it may just be doing that with all the contacts/etc I'm importing now, so hopefully that'll stop once that's all done. I'll post back and let you know if it works. Though I unfortunately lost all my precious Angry Birds scores even though I moved it to the SD card and let that untouched in the backup :)
