all i can say is this
ive been using a windows 7 phone for a month for testing at work
its the most illogical peace of software ive used on a mobile
it looks nice but it makes no sense.
all the stuff you dont want to find or use is easily accessable and the stuff you want is hidden away

    its ******ed

seriously? I thought that the UI was the (only) major distinction. The "hubs" presenting real time information in the tiles was supposed to be very intuitive?!

As an Xbox owner I think I'll be ditching my Desire for a WP7 in the not too distant future.

Though I was hoping for better hardware spec'd phones.

Am I correct in thinking that Windows Phone 7 doesnt have copy and paste...?
Im sure I read that somewhere, if thats so, I cant believe they deliberately left out that function after the outcry when Apple did the same with the original iPhone OS.

Otherwise it looks like a great operating system from what I have seen. If I had an xbox I think I would be considering it, but I have over a year left on contract, so I will wait to see what Apple, Microsoft and Google have to offer in a years time.

Yeah. Though it is coming in early 2011. Bit of a stupid thing to do, but something I could quite easily do without until then.

Oh, I see what you did there! Bravo Sir, bravo!

No matter how nice the UI is on either, really it comes down to which is the better platform.

WPS7 looks nice but I think I would miss the Open Source of Android. I was considering waiting for a WSP7 phone, or even going to it after android. I don't think I would now though

See, the dealbreaker for me is Xbox intergration. My concerns are that it appears to be pretty locked down, similar to the iPhone.

That is exactly my concern. As for xbox integration, I only use mine on teh TV, not as an extender or anything so that doesn't appeal to me.

all i can say to you two is try it out at a store when you get the chance.
the os is backwards and makes no sense at all
theyve tried hard to integrate the xboxlive'esque experience but it just doesnt work for a phone.
when you are at the home screen it doesnt even feel like you are at home and the device looks like its waiting for more input from yourself to do something.
Its as if you are stuck in a menu as youve not completed what ever you were doing on the phone.
