I am Getting Nervous of Buying the DIncGeneral

    I am getting a little nervous about buying the new Droid Incredible. I have read so many posts about battery issues, screen hue issues, random reboots, camera locks up, etc. Seems like a lot of defective units over a relatively small sample size in the initial few days of launch.
    Just curious what the various thoughts are relative to all these problems.

    its a great phone, people just spent a lot of money their new phones and they are trying to expose every little flaw. you can try it for 30 days you know...

    Not so bad, everything has a learning curve. There will be some updates to firmware in the future that can change a lot. The phone works perfect for me, I have had 2 on my calling plan since launch. Also read some of the current posts about people that have had their battery cycle 3-5 times, seems like there is a break-in period for these batteries....If you wait for the next phone top come out, you will always be waiting for the next phone :) Just go get-ir-done!!!

    I've had zero issues with my DI (knock on wood). I really think the issues you are reading about on here is a small sample size. Sure some people have an issue with their DI, run to this website to get help...but I'm also willing to bet there's thousands upon thousands that are like me and doing just fine.

    If you like the phone and features, buy it. IF there is some crazy widespread issue on every phone, they'd have to issue a recall anyway...

    Its like this on ANY forum. People don't usually register on a website, and start a new thread to talk about how their phone has no issues. When people have problems, the post online. Go look at an Iphone forum and all you see is issues... and thats the largest selling phone EVER. Buy it, and you have 30 days to try it. If worst case scenario you hate it and it really does have every problem you worried about, just return it, pay your $30 restocking fee and move on! Its not that bad of a price to test drive a phone! If you do return it, your upgrade will be available again also. Good luck and welcome to the forums!

    If they are happy with their DI, you are FAR FAR less likely to hear from them. If theres a problem, people will shout and scream about it.

    So far mine has been fantastic, including the battery. I've passed 24 hours straight and I'm still over 40 percent ( Light to medium use, currently switching to heavy use so I can drain it, charge it...and start some real number crunching on the battery )

    Go to any devices forums and they will all have complaints. I love my incredible no issues what so ever. Sometimes it user error or carrier error or device error. But this device has had a successful launch to where Verizon is out of stock already. I am very pick with my devices And rough on them and so far the incredible wins.

    Early adopters typically will have SOME issues however, you also have to realize the audience this forum is based on. Most threads are asking for help on a certain issue with the phone. You will not see 10000 threads about "YAY MY PHONE IS AWESOME," so keep that in mind. In addition to that, think about how many buyers are NOT on this forum, this isnt the only place with Incredible owners. You have to put things into perspective, as it seems like this is something you're not understanding.

    Best phone I have had so far! This thing rocks! I just switched from a BB Storm to an Incredible and could not be happier. I have been using it heavily since Thursday and have not had an issue. This is a Fantastic user experience right out of the box!

    I have not had one issue with mine. Battery lasts well into day 2, never had one single reboot. Camera has never locked up. Not only do I get that battery life, I'm on the thing all the time.

    Like any phone release, there is usually a bad "batch" unfortunately.

    But I for one am loving this thing. Kicks the crap out of my Motorola, which I promply dumped on CL the same day this arrived last week! (and I liked the Moto... )

    I can't wait for the dock to be for sale, and I need to really be careful with this thing until Invisible shield gets a protector in BB stores.

    The rebooting has been fixed, I am in Greensboro, NC and my phone hasn't rebooted a single time since Friday night.

    First thing I learned as a marketing student.. One person will tell 10 people if the are unhappy or dissatisfied about something. A happy/satisfied person will maybe tell two or three people. Happy people don't usually express their satisfaction unless prompted.

    I love my Incredible. It's been perfect so far *knocks on wood*. I expected the battery life to be an issue. It was an issue with my BB Storm & my Eris....

    As far as the battery "concerns" keep in mind that these are pocket computers. iPhones, Moto Droids, HD2's all suck through battery just like this device does, it's the nature of smartphones at the moment. The DI's battery may go a little quicker than these other devices, but they're not much better on battery drain. Managing your battery and turning off things you don't need when you're not using them will help. Personally, I would rather the devices be thicker and have larger batteries but that's not what the general populace seems to want.

    The reboot issue was a Verizon issue in the NC Triad area and seems to be fixed. My phone didn't reboot at all today, but had been rebooting non stop since Thursday.

    My only complaint is that my bank and two favorite sites (goodreads.com and tumblr.com) either don't have apps or don't have solid apps.

    Everything else is perfect.

    You're going to hear A LOT more talk from people with problems than from people who are totally satisfied.
