Hello. I'm new to the Android OS. I've been thinking Android for a while because I was getting tired of iOS. I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2, and didn't like it so much. It did seem much faster than my iPhone 4, but the browser would constantly freeze when having more than one tab opened. I didn't like the screen so much.

I now have a Galaxy S3, and I'm surprised at the difference from the S2 to the S3. I didn't think there would be a difference since the specs are almost the same. Everything seems to run super smooth. The screen does look better too. I'm still playing with it, and don't know what to get.

I'm not sure if I should root the phone. Right now I'm having a problem. Simple Last.FM scrobbler is not detecting PlayerPro. Is it because I downloaded the app onto my SD card without getting it from the Play Store? I'm not liking the volume so much with my headphones. It sounds low compared to my iPhone 4. I was able to get the volume I wanted on the S2 with Voodoo Louder. Is there anything like this for the S3?

What apps do you recommend for the Galaxy S3?

Something I discovered that I thought was very cool was having a video play in front of everything else while I browsed or did whatever I wanted. That really shocked me! :D Android didn't really convince me on the S2, but it's convincing me on the S3. :D

First off the Galaxy S3 is much quicker then the S2 in terms of hardware... the Galaxy S2 is a 1.2 ghz dual core while the Gaxlaxy S3 has a new 1.5 ghz dual core s4(which is about double the speed on quadrant benchmark, it also has a extra gig of ram (im assuming you have the Verizon or AT&T version) Also the screen is higher resolution 1280x720 vses 940x640 (i think thats qHD?) Idk I got most of the apps i had on my old 4S on my S3, I find that the play store has much less quality games both free and paid as compared to the app store which pisses me off

Ahh ok. Yeah it's much faster than the S2! I don't have any games on my phone right now.

I don't know if I should get new radio/modems because I always get edge speeds at my house.

Unless you have an *absolute* reason to, don't even entertain the thought.

Just asking for extra aggravation. I haven't found a legitimate reason to even consider it yet.

Lol, rooting isn't quite that bad. It's usually what people do after attaining root that becomes the issue.

Laptop is right thought, unless you find a need for it, it might be better to hold off.
