I LOVE MY EVO! No buts, ifs, or stupid complaints.

I keep reading posts on complaints about the EVO. I mean really, some stupid childish things. It's a phone for gosh sakes people, not politics!

Truth is, I love mine. There is nothing in mass production that will satisfy every customer out there. It is impossible. I have some gripes, yes, but it is what it is. My overall experience with this little gadget has put a huge smile on my face, "ear to ear baby!" I know with time and the constant evolving of the android market and devs, solutions to gripes will only be a download away.

Though I despise apple and the materialistic bandwagoners, there was once a time that I owned an iphone. In fact, all three gens until now. I did not own it because it had a little apple on it as sooo many really wanted it for, like those who need gucci on their shirt labels. I owned because IMO it was the best at the time.

I switched, mainly because ATT was a ripoff! Bad service, high rates, bad connections. Now I find myself with an EVO, complimented by better service, much better rates, and faster speeds. Honestly, today at present, this is IMO the best phone, complimented by the best rates on the market today.

Don't be a pessimist. I mean really, if you dig deep enough you can find faults in your significant others for gosh sakes. There is a fault in anything and everything if you want to find it, its called opinion. The EVO, in my opinion nears perfection of the choices we have available to us today. I praise the amount of goodies it has to offer and am fully satisfied. Cheers!

My only beefs are HTC Sense and the lack of a keyboard.

Had mine since launch day not a single issue.... Then again I don't use task killers then come here to complain when it, not the device causes issues....

Rooted and running Fresh .03.... Awesome device, awesome Sprint prices and not a single complaint here..... The EVO just plain ROCKS!!!!!

I'm with you OP! I got mine on launch day and STILL can't leave it alone. I've seen people complain about low signal but compared to my BlackBerry, this phone gets much better signal, even in my bedroom where my BB would either go roaming or no signal at all. The EVO gives me full bars. I couldn't be happier!

I am running fresh myself. Long story short it is a custom rooted rom that eliminates bloatware, making the device run faster. Gets rid of a lot of sprint nonsense that many do not use. (Can add what you like back if you do)

Therefore less things running at any given time, freeing up memory, making things smooth as butter. Not that it wasn't already!

Also there are a few other perks: read about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700448

So don't use sense. You can enable the stock home launcher.

From the home screen: menu/settings/applications/Manage Applications Wait for it to load. Find HTC Sense in the list and click on it. Click Clear Defaults. Hit the home button and you will see 2 options. Click Home for the stock launcher. You may want to click the select be default check box too.

Or a Samsung Moment - I liked its physical keyboard better than the Droid I tried - and aside from the pre-loaded Sprint bundle, it's straightforward 2.1.

I moved on from it specifically because I wanted to give Sense a go, was ready to move away from physical keyboards (been using one for nearly 3 years) - and the larger screen.

I am already used to the on screen keyboard....but I do miss the tactile feel of a real keyboard on the Moment.

And, yes, I have never been so ghey about a phone...ever.

I had a hard time using the onscreen keyboard - until I started using Skype. That is one sweet input tool.
