I am dying to buy this phone. Maybe it's because I've been using an s60v5 phone for the past year. Plus the reviews from gsmarena have my itching as well.

Would this s60V5 phone happen to be the i8910 Omnia HD?

That's what I had before.....if that phone had Android on it I wouldn't even be looking at other phones...

Yea, it's the i8910. And I agree, if the i8910 had Android running on it, I probably wouldn't be upgrading right now.

But the Galaxy S is what I wanted out of the i8910.

    Yep!

I wish they'd put these items from the i8910 on the Galaxy S:

    - DNSe 2.0 (Digital Natural Sound Engine)
    - Virtual 5.1 channel Dolby surround

And the i8910 Omnia HD came out in Feb. '09, and it ALREADY had 8mp camera, 3.7" AMOLED screen and di 720p videos.....all it needed was Android.

    Check the Comparison:

    Samsung i8910 Omnia HD vs. Samsung I9000 Galaxy S - GSMArena.com

    :)

I have the i8910 as well, excellent with 'cooked firmware' but still want the Galaxy S
