    Hello,

I currently have an unlocked Blackberry Storm on T-Mobile and was considering selling it to get a G1. I have a few questions though.

First of all, what is the difference in hardware as far as graphics go? Actually, is there any serious difference in hardware that is relevant?

Secondly, how do you personally feel about the G1 and the market place?

I tried out a Storm and didn't like the virtual keyboard. The click screen drove me nuts. Do you like it?

I felt the key accuracy wasn't there. If I was going virtual keyboard I would go iPhone.

As for graphics, screens are built on their brightness. I run my screen at "0" and when held up to iPhones it looks about the same, then I crank it to 50 and blow away their screen. It does a great job handling the graphics of video on You tube that is crisp and looks great.

The click screen, when it works right, is fine. There is a learning curve with the keyboard, but I can now type as fast as the phone can keep up with.
I am actually excited to see that the G1 will get an on screen keyboard with this cupcake thing I hear...

I just think it would be a pain to have to unfold the phone to type something. It seems like it would be inconvenient at times.

I have come from a Sidekick so for me the great physical keyboard and opening it to use the device was no biggy. I really like having one.

As for speed, I could type nearly 60 words a minute with the Sidekick which had a typing speed application. I haven't seen one with the G1. But I do keep a pretty good rate going.

Most devices have a little learning curve, but if I was getting a blackberry I would opt for a full keyboard model, so maybe the storm isn't for me. Maybe you should consider the next Android device which won't have a keyboard.

I have seen the G2 and I actually don't like the way it looks. It looks too "girly" and fragile. I dont mind a fold out keyboard, I would just like the option of having on on screen for quick texts. I send and receive about 5k texts a month, so that is very important. I would imagine the fold out keyboard would be an asset.

Get ChompSMS it has an iPhone style on screen keyboard and looks nice too. I use it for all my SMS, but still type manually.

Of course you do know we are getting a built in soft keyboard too, in the near future right?

g1 is excellent all the way,the only thing i don't like is the sliding keyboard.Even though i hardly text message, but still i would prefer an onscreen keyboard to(set reminders, write notes or browse web).Hopefully cupcake will fix all these(if there is such thing anyway)

Yea I heard that. I am ready for it.

I had chompSMS on here, but I would get two notifications for every text, and it would have two icons. Can I disable the first so just chompSMS shows up?
