So I connected a usb cord that came with my galaxy, to the front usb ports of my new computer.. i built it myself but i think i connected the from case usb cords wrong to the mobo or maybe the mobo is defective.. my phone turns off as soon as i connect it to the usb cord connected to the front.

Could the battery be screwed?. My phone still boots up, it just doesnt charge as fast.. if not at all.. i left it connected to the wall charger all night tonight and it was only half charged by morning. Should I just order a new battery off ebay for my galaxy?.

Ok, slow down here. I'm losing you.

If I understood you right, you connected your phone to the front USB port of your computer. For some reason you feel that the front USB port is faulty and ever since you connected the phone there (front USB) it's been charging more slowly. Do I have that right?

Connecting to the wall charger all night and having only half charge in the morning IS a problem. If your phone is still under warranty, I suggest you go to Samsung. Otherwise, we'll need to think of something else.

As you suspect, it looks like a battery problem, but I don't want to comment on that issue just yet.

If its battery, then the new one (battery of course) would do the trick. :p

Umm... dude (or dudet) whats your problem ? He wasn't being sarcastic. And in your OP you DID have concerns about the battery anyway.

Please remember, we don't have physical access to your phone, so we can't telepathically tell what's wrong with it. (Even if we did have physical access, I doubt if any one of us has the hardware expertise needed to fix your phone anyway)

I didn`t mean for that to sound offensive, and sorry if it did sound like that.. I highly appreciate the support.

Anyways I ordered a battery from China off Ebay, I brought the phone to my local electronics store and they did some tests on the battery to see if they could jump start it into charging. Before I brought it down it didnt turn on at all. They used a 9 volt battery attached to a postive and negative wire to charge it a bit then plugged it into the charger.. and it turned on but didnt charge. I hope when i get the new battery it works, if not then ill have to warranty the phone, it sucks enough not having a functional phone, good thing i have a land line to use until then. FML.

Oh heck, I didn't realize that was the story. Its understandable why you got so mad then.

If I were in your shoes, I'd just go straight to a Samsung showroom. I'm not sure about the specifics, but if the phone is still under warranty, it's risky to try an 'unauthorised' battery. And you might want to keep the story about the faulty USB port to yourself. Just try telling the Samsung technician that after plugging in the phone to the PC, it went bust. If the tech is worth something, he should be able to diagnose by himself what happened. Or at worst, they might charge you for repairs.

All the best to you, mate!

Something similar happened to me some months ago. In my case the phone died when using the wall charger but I could charge it using the USB connection.

My gess is that it had some kind of short circuit that emptied the battery... but It went as it came, so I have no idea...

    Cheers!
