i think most people use DoubleTwist, or bTunes.

At least that's what the other 1 billion threads on this topic say. :D

Isyncr will sync your playlists also.

DoubleTwist is pretty easy to use, their website has a good tutorial. I haven't used the others. I would just use google to locate them, review their features and use whichever sounds like the best for your needs.

Just go to the market from your phone and do a search for Isyncr and read about it. They also have a web page to access from your pc so you can check it out.

Doubletwist is very simple, and it works really well. And the best part is, it's free. I was trying to drag and drop, but wasn't patient enough, so I dloaded Dtwist, and it got my vote...

I like iSyncr. You download it from the market and it puts an app on your phone and one on your SD card, and the version that sits on your SD card can be purchased for Mac or PC.

Then you mount your phone to the laptop/computer and run the app. It automatically starts up iTunes and you simply select the playlist you want to transfer (I make a specific one called EVOtunes, for example).

What I like about it is that it also transfers your album artwork properly, sometimes DoubleTwist doesn't do that right, and also, I found DoubleTwist to be a bit slow and buggy on the client (Mac) side of things... but I'm guessing it will improve in time.

So there you go, easy-peasy, but it probably won't transfer DRM-encoded 'protected' iTunes songs, but that's another kettle of fish altogether...

FYI, if all your music is bought from itunes, it wont work. Those are DRM file (thanks Steve Jobs) and wont work with anything other than itunes.

If you upgraded your Itunes purchased tracks to the DRM free it would work though.

There is also software you can buy to remove the DRM protection as well. But it usually starts around $25. Or you could just buy your music on Amazon and not have to worry about it at all, except for what you already purchased through itunes.

To my knowledge, iSyncr also writes back to iTunes, which is helpful if you have Smart Playlists that depend on play counts and last played (like I do). Since I'm one of the legions of poor souls waiting for VZW to ship out my Incredible, I'm still in the scheming phases, but I'm looking to do a combination of iSyncr and bTunes.

    1. PLEASE don't buy software to remove the DRM off a file!!! Just burn it to a CD, and then rip the CD back to the hard drive! free, and free of DRM!!!

    2. Question for you Isyncr users: Are you able to rate songs on your device, and then sync to iTunes and have the iTunes library retrieve that information?

Free except for all the CDs you have to buy ;) You do lose all your file data too (artist, title, album work, etc) which iTunes can usually find if you enter names correctly. But it is an easy way to get rid of the DRM as well!

Well, you could always burn to an .iso, mount that and rip from it...

That isn't a bad idea (it has obviously been a while since I have burned music to a CD!!).

Not entirely true. None of the music I bought from iTunes has DRM. You're a few years behind... ;)
