For some reason, Acer's newest budget tablet (the Iconia B1) has worse specs than last year's model (the Iconia A110). The Iconia A110 has 1 GB of RAM and a quad-core processor, while the Iconia B1 has a dual-core processor and only 512 MB of RAM.

Why would their newer tablet have worse specs than last year's model? For that matter, why even make a model with such horrible specs?

It's possible they're only trying to appeal to emerging markets who don't have a ton to spend on a tablet.

Yes, the spec is lower, but so is the price, nearly half the price of the A110. They are trying to attract new Tablet users.
