Help Idiots guide to rooting new update 2.3.6 fa 19

Hello all,

I apologize for my utter lack of comprehending the intricacies of the rooting tutorial, and alot of the threads seem to pertain to the non updated Prevail.

I will try to be as simple as possible, when listing what I want from this phone, and if anyone can help me achieve this, (or let me know it is not possible) that would be amazing.

1. Bloatware, too much junk on this phone I cannot delete.

2. Minute size of what I what I can run, 165 M? I have the MLB at Bat app and that along with facebook, youtube, almost fills up the memory. I would like to get pandora or another streaming radio player.

3. I dont need much on this phone, I have an ipod touch 4g, just dont want to pay upwards of $100 a month to listen to pandora and check the net in non wi fi areas.

4. Is there any better internet explorer options, this browser is not good at all.

5. all in all, the 45 buck price range would be perfect for me if i could just have maybe 10 apps and be able to increase the speed, or somehow tether this to my ipod.

I will be at the mercy of you all who are much more knowledgeable than I am in this subject and I hope to get some sort of clarity before I chuck this phone out the window.

First of all i need to tell you that, technology is changing, today tip not work tomorrow. So its a normal behavior.

You can find more up to date rooting methods in this forum as well as XDA forum.

If you need to remove bloatware, you have to root your device otherwise you can't.

Dolphin HD, Chrome for android also good web browser for android. But chrome need android 4 ( ICS ).

once rooted apps like titanium backup and root uninstaller (both on market... Err, play store ) can do this

there are several solutions to this, all of which involve creating one (or more) partition(s) on your sdcard.
Hroark's CM7 has a kernel available for it that puts all of your apps/data/cache onto the sd-ext (partition)

Kouma has several several options for this also. With his kernel you can have apps+data+cache on the sd-ext (for fast sd cards), or apps on sd-ext + cache on second secret partition (for med. speed cards) or just apps on sd-ext (for slow cards)

Additionally, there are apps that can do this as well ( Links2sd , Dark Tremors apps2sd for prevail & S2E (last one is CM7 only) )
