If I buy a phone off Craigslist, do I still have the 1 year factory warranty?

So I currently have a mytouch and was thinking about getting a mytouch slide off of craigslist. Just wondering will I still be able to send in the slide for a replacement if it has any problems or not.

    Thank you

Of course, that's assuming that they know you transferred the phone...

I think it's somewhat dependent on the carrier. In the past I've purchased phones from eBay and added them to my Verizon account. Verizon, so far, has not given me grief over warranty issues.

it depends on if it's been on someone else's account. If you buy a phone thats been on another account even if it's only for a couple of days, verizon won't honor the warranty. It will show up in our computers as "customer provided equipment"... you might get lucky and get a cool rep who will work around it for you, but most of the time they are sticklers.

a 1 year factory warranty should be covered by the manufacturer not the carrier so you are fine. The manufacturer is the people that will take care of your phone not the carrier.
