Andronix on top form this morning
For once I'm "content" with what I have (K4), so I'll take a back seat and wait for others to report their experiences with this one before I take the plunge.
edit: found a link for it here http://gettyfile.com/455700/
I've just installed it, no new apps that I can find for the moment ,keep you informed after a bit of use
No samsung keyboard, but a very smooth and snappy android keyboard. Unlock working well too.
Made a mirror since this is quite slow
RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting
credits to the original uploader of course
you can just use the fus downloader if you have a 32bit windows os
I have to use an authenticated proxy which means I can't use it (it won't connect), so it's always useful to have a rapidshare or similar link
It would be really fun if Samsung were releasing changelogs with their firmwares.
This "black box" approach to discovering what is new in every new firmware is wasting
time and energy of a number of people, without there being any need for it.
One strange thing I've noticed is that it doubles up everything on the phone,in ringtones all tunes are in double same with notification ringtones and it has doubled all my photos . I did a wipe before installing but I do'nt fancy doing a factory reset right now, as that might rectify the problem. Will charge up the phone fully for the night and see if the phone sleeps well and find out what the charge status is in the morning. I ran logcat earlier the only thing waking then was GTalkService but I think that was because I am running the phone with every option open.
Downloading with FUS downloader now!
Is the Market "broken" the way it usually is in new firmwares? Like no paid apps, etc.
Just a quick check: if I remove cache.img from the tar archive - will Odin flash the firmware simply ignoring there's no CSC?
is cpu overclocking to 528 Mhz on IK4 or IK5 without root?
like getting root is hard
Hi informale, I have paid apps showing up on market so I do'nt think there is a break, sorry not technical enough to answer your question on CSC.
Just downloaded speed forge and played for the first time so 3D graphics fix follows on from IK4
Camera button seems fixed on IK5 ,ran logcat, put the phone to sleep then tried pressing camera button nothing showed up on logcat, even with phone on it took a long hard press on camera button before logcat registered the command and the camera switched on
Have you tried the full press when the phone is locked - just out of curiosity.
market usually goes bad a week after release then gets fixed after a couple of days
Updated to IK5. Feels snappier than II5 and IK4, especially the browser. So far so good. Testing the sleep/wake ratio.
to reply to informale the camera button seems to be condemed in sleep mode.
Thanks for the info on market rastaman will check towards the end of the week.
Battery life seems very good one percent down after five hours sleep, dialer showing the most with google apps and android system following.Must say it was the first time in ages since I left everything on bar Wifi, Bluetooth and Gps, but I think a good week of testing battery life is needed before jumping(for joy)to conclutions. Available memory is between 27 and 30 M with taskiller.
Something strange happened to me with this firmware. I tried using it with the darkstar theme and it worked. After that I did a nandroid restore and now I'm running GalaxHero 1.1 and it still says I have the IK5 version. Does this make any sense?
1. Can I flash (via Odin) this firmware on my Galaxy with csc from "Bouygues Telecom - France"?
2. If this is posible, do I lose those custom "application"?
3. If those things will still be there, HOW CAN I GET RID OF THEM ??? (i just want a clean phone)
Thanks in advance for any help!
It does. Galaxo does not contain all parts of the firmware (is it baseband? or I may be wrong...).
I've removed the CSC (cache.img file) from the TAR archive and it flashed just fine with Odin. I'm not sure whta you mean by custom "application" though - you'll only loose predefined bookmarks in the browser, as far as I'm concerned. Do you really need the CSC from your French operator?
the Market is working fine. All my purchased apps show up, can be downloaded and installed.
If I delete that file, than means CSC wil not be updated and I'm stuck with the old bookmarks or they will be erased for good?
No, I do not need them, in fact, as I said before, I WANT to ERASE them (as they cannot be unnistalled by conventional methods).
