    The title says it all.

I thought root/superuser cured that on day one

I downloaded the SLWM today. With USB debugging on I send the .apk files I DL to Windows 7 then to my phone. The phone never flashed up an on-screen que of a transfer, but no big deal.

I launch Astro, I see the files automatically DL to my SD card (they even have thumbnails). I try to launch and I'm blocked due to "security". I've tried to lauch them from different angels outside of Astro but they all end up with the same "security" block.

I'm new to Android and "customizing" phones.

    Thanks for the help.

Rooting doesn't fix that. You have to enable side loading.

something similar happened to me intially.

Have you made sure to take the actual .apk file and physically drag and drop it inside the actual folder that you have the SWM in?

If you do that, then launch the SWM, you can then choose the .apk file and click Go. At that point, the adb shell ought to open on your computer showing your phone's serial number (meaning it recognizes the device) and then it will auto-continue the process of side-loading the app on to your device.

If you've already done this with no luck, then I'm unfortunately not sure what to suggest.

So, maybe my real noobness is in my lack of Windows 7 experience (just moved up from XP 2 weeks ago). I can't seem to figure out how to get the SWM files out of the zip folder. It extracts, but stays put. That's why I moved the icon to my desktop it...I have to run the file every time I try to use it.
