That nobody has been able to figure out how to unlock the bootloader on the S3 with Android 4.3.

I assume this must be real difficult and that someone somewhere (at samsung?) has the key to unlock it?

On Verizon? As far as I know it's only theirs that can't be unlocked so it's them that hold "the key"

Yeah Verizon. I have the Verizon S3.

Still surprised it hasn't leaked out through an employee or something.

Kind of makes me angry that we have no control over the software on our phones.

Imagine buying a PC with Windows on it and Microsoft had it locked down so that you couldn't install one of the many versions of Linux available.
