Help IMAP email always shows as UNREAD!

Lots of posts around this subject but cant find anything exactly.

I've had this for months now but kind of got used to it but now want it resolved!

Using 2.2's stock email app I have setup up IMAP (my own providers details not Gmail) and it always shows as unread. Everytime I read them all and leave it for a few minutes, they return to unread again!!

Is this an Android issue, general IMAP issue or what!!??

Never seen that with IMAP, but have trying to use Hotmail with POP.
