Importing video files

I've never had a phone that handles media so well, and so consequently never bothered uploading movies files to one. I'd like to watch a movie or two on my Evo during an upcoming flight. Can anyone offer any gereral guidance/advice on how to compress video and get it on your phone. Is there a simple, painless way to do this (i.e. a do-everything program or some synching feature I don't know about.)?

I apologize if this is a stupid question. I did search the forums prior to asking. It's just something I haven't done before.

I miss things easily I suppose. None of those threads came up.

Thanks for your direction. At first glance, it's looks like the short answer is no, there is no painless, all-encompassing way to do this.

Lots of info in these posts though. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Its really not that hard to use handbrake once you get used to it. Once you get all the settings correct, you can make a preset, so all you have to do is load a video then hit convert.
