I just did the following and will let you know how it works out for me. Easy battery saver keeps turning my screen off when I access the app. I have to keep hitting the sleep button before I can adjust the settings. I have no idea what that's about. If your settings hold true and I can get at least 5hrs heavy use(100+ SMS, music, random web, twitter and fb) & 9hrs moderate that would be slick.

I had not a good outcome with Blue1k settings...

Someone tell me how to save the screenshots in a smaller size so I can upload them. Or save them as a jpg.

One on the left is the start of the day.
picture on the right is 5hrs later.

I personally never have good experience with apps for improving battery life. I'm rooted and use the alpha1 rom with go launcher ex ics theme and its good all day.

    OMG

I am a few minutes away from 6 DAYS of battery use and I still have 15% left...

I know how you feel. Now, my wife came up with a great way to make my battery last WEEKS... Turn the phone off and not use it...

Yeah, I didn't find it very helpful either.

Lots of screen-on time + LTE = dead battery. Simple math....

I am skeptical of process killing apps, but I will give this a shot and report back.

Yes. I put a link to my own battery saving thread above and that's the first thing under step 1.

    here it is again: http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-note/522316-if-your-battery-drains-overnight.html

Anyways - here is how I ended on that battery charge - almost onto the 7th day.

What I find interesting is that I leave Bluetooth on 24/7 - streaming music and used for almost all phone calls and it doesn't use more than 3% of the battery (doesn't even show in the top of the list)

Question for anyone who might have actually done the math on this, or might be interested in doing some math:

I'm trying to figure out if there's some way to really get a legit avg marker of what decent "battery life" to "screen-on-time" should be:

I am currently at 28% battery remaining at 3:20EST, after having been off charge since 7am EST. My battery stats show that I've had roughly 3hrs15min of screen-on time.

Would this be considered poor, avg or exceptional battery drain, given my screen-on time?

    Anyone??

FYI: nothing crazy going on behind the scenes, and I'm using Bluek1 battery saving tips for root users, all in Wifi as I'm working from home today, all my email and general notifications pushing actively, brightness turned down to about 15%. I have done zero media streaming today; none whatsoever.

Let me know if there are other details needed.

McGilli.... I'm suffering over here for real.

Right now I dropped down to strictly 4g instead of lte, I downloaded juice defender again and went through all the triggers and controls specifically. I also have set CPU to tone down the processor to a very low output when the screen is off. I froze the selected apps using titanium back up. I'm fully charging the battery as I type. I think my excessive text messaging is a issue. I browse twitter, fb and the blogs. I'm going to see how this works out for me. I'm a heavy user while at work so all I need is a 8hr day and I will be content.

    This might sound stupid question

I'm new to Android Smartphones I was wondering is there a way in the setting on Stock Rom to turn off the LTE to make it HSPA+ I cannot find it any where on my phone settings?

It Shows on my phone AT&T 4G Network I cannot figure out how to just make it HSPA+

    Thanks Everyone :)

4G is HSPA+. Same exact thing.

Now LTE, that's a different story as its "true" 4G.

What he said was he wants to turn of LTE. That's what I am doing but I am rooted. Try Settings>wireless and networks>mobile networks>network mode

Didn't AT&T disable that function in their stock ROM?

I know in my Rogers one, I can switch it with stock (non-rooted) - my carrier (not Rogers) doesn't have LTE too, so pointless to have it auto detect LTE.

Also, you'll need to scroll down to see the 'Mobile Networks' when in the 'Wireless and network' settings. Maybe that's what you're missing out?

Here are my screen shots and 'predicted' battery life.

What is that battery app you have?
    What are your settings?
Also, his are you guys able to post screenshots of that size? I have to change everything up to post a screenshot from the note. Its very irritating!

I put the pics in my public DropBox folder and link to it so it will be full size. :) :thrasher:

It's called Battery HD. I bought the paid version to support the developer. The only thing I don't like about it is an extra page the developer put in to advertise other apps. Annoying, but at least its not intrusive (you have to hit the '+' button to see it).

I think it also drains the battery abit compared if I didn't have it.

The calibration feature takes about an hour to an hour and a half to complete.

The brightness is set (not automatic). It's a notch below Talderon's setting. I also disabled WiFi/GPS/data network when I am not using them (the biggest battery drain being the data network). I have set data network to auto search for GSM/HSPA. Disabled the roaming feature. My carrier doesn't have LTE.

I also disabled any autosyncs, etc that may eat up or connect to data network.

I use photobucket because it's forum friendly by providing IMG or even thumbnail links that you just copy and paste directly into your posts. Simple and easy to use.

My standby is decent. When I use the phone for SMS or just the screen being on the battery just start draining seriously! It is starting to become a hassle for real. If I could just get 8hrs moderate/heavy use I would be good. I would take 7hrs with on and off charging. Think I will have to invest in the extended battery and have a pregnant device.

Or get a spare battery and replace it mid-day when you've depleted the previous battery? But I guess that would be a hassle as you have to remove the cover, pop battery out, stick another in and seal 'er up.

I'm a light to moderate user and can get by a full day without the need to charge. I generally do 4G (ie. 3G+) for about 1-2 hours a day (no WiFi). That saps my battery by a good chunk, especially if I forget to disable the data network. I don't do much calls either which helps...

Think I am going to try a full manual moves on the phone. I will remove the sync apps and try to go bare.

This is overnight. The discharge rate while the phone is off is still a bother. I have juicedefender running, CPU down to 192mhz when screen is off. I'm going to see how I can get Att to send me a new battery, I'm sure it has to be that. [IMG]

Are you on LTE all the time? Whenever I'm on LTE my battery seems to drain 10x faster.

When I'm out I force hspa+. Either way I have a serious drain while using the note. The picture above was overnight. I don't know how in the world that battery drain happen like that. Very very frustrating and I guess I will have to invest in a pregnant phone or have them send be out another battery. Thing is I live this device so unlike my others where as I just got another device I can't go back to a smaller screen size LBVFS"
