Inconsistency with back button?

Sometimes while in an app, back does what you would expect it to. Either go back to the previous screen or close a dialog (depending on the context). However, sometimes it quits and app and goes all the way back to the home screen. I find this a little irritating. I say a *little* because I really like my Android phone. This is just a little annoyance.

Is it just me?

Is it suppose to work this way?

Is there a setting to change this behavior?

Will Froyo work differently?

Its all dependent on how the developer has set it up. Google suggest that hte back button should ALWAYS take you to the previous screen, however some apps do not follow this best practice.

Best thing to do is email the app developer and tell them.
