Help Incredible countdown timer skips seconds

The countdown timer is part of the Desk Clock which shows by default on the main screen. Its icon is right next to that of the alarm clock and the stop watch.

I have my count down timer set to 15 minutes and 15 seconds. When I start it, it counts down to five seconds, sometimes four, sometimes three, and then the minutes (15) change to 14. The counter never reaches '3' or '2' or '1' or '0.' In other words, every minute the countdown timer loses some five seconds.

I checked that carefully. The minutes change every 55 seconds or so, not every 60 seconds.

Is that happening to anyone else? Has anyone found a solution?

(Yes, I did download some working timers from the market. Just wanted to know if anyone else has encountered this issue.)
