Check out this page: Android Phones - Android Forums Scroll down, and look at how many threads/posts are on the incredible forum!

Our phone, the Droid Incredible, is obviously a popular phone right now among android phones. As of today, it is second only to the marketed Motorola Droid.

Now do these numbers mean it actually is dearly beloved, or does that mean it has many problems?

That's because Verizon knows how to market Android phones. The G1 might have been the cost android phone but android didn't explode in popularity untill Verizon had one. That being said I'm surprised Google didn't embrace Verizon more than they have like let there company be the first to have the Nexus one or the Evo

    I'm guessing both.

Yeah it is kinda weird, I would think that since CDMA (Sprint + Verizon) networks have more customers, they would be a better market to introduce phones on (at least in the US).

Of course if you are looking worldwide, making a GSM model available first would be a pretty good idea. Android 1.5 didn't even include native CDMA support.

I don't know how well Android does overseas (especially with the market limitations). From what I've seen, Nokia is the big player over there.

Google has no control over who gets the Evo (HTC does). It would have been nice to see the Nexus One on Verizon sooner rather than later. The only marketing Android got before the Moto Droid commercials were those dumb T-Mobile G1 commercials showing all the "celebrities" and their ugly ass custom dialers. Didn't exactly turn many people onto the platform. Nevermind T-Mobiles network being the smallest of all the "big" carriers.

It's because it is an incredibly popular phone and everyone wants to learn more about it including accessories, optimizing performance and battery life, chatting, and learning.

It got little hype (besides us insiders) yet amazing ratings and sold out which shows the phone is a true champion.

Everyone is happy because Verizon has never had a phone this nice before.
