Well, with the big news unofficially announced, only one question remains....When you finally decide to pull the trigger, will you be sporting the Nexus One or the Incredible?

    Whichever comes out first. :D

But to be honest, a lot depends on concrete release dates and the final specs of the the Incredible. The optical trackpad sways me toward the Incredible. If they leave the RAM at 256 MB, I'll be swayed toward the N1. If one is significantly thinner than the other, it will sway me that way. It's too early to say for sure.

There are a few factors that would make my decision real easy.

    1) Will Verizon allow customers to use their new every 2 credit on the N1? If not....Incredible is a no brainer.

    2) Will Google require you to have an individual plan as they did with T-mobile? If buying the N1 means you cannot be part of a family plan.... Incredible is a no brainer.

A few less important matters only relevant if conditions 1 and 2 sway in my favor.

    3) Red back really? I mean not the biggest deal but come on. Red and plastic will be a fail. I love the N1 rubberish black back. Looks 100x better than that awfulness.

    4) Screen size not 3.7" ?? I doubt this can be true but come on... It wouldnt be so Incredible if it had a 3.2 or 3.5" screen. Thats a fact

    5) Which will come out first??

For me it will be the next VZW Android which ever comes first. However, I would much rather be buying a phone from VZW directly and not Google given all of the issues people have been having. Bring on the INCREDIBLE VZW SOON!!

Don't forget your lack of in store support with the N1. Sure you dont buy things thinking they'll break. But if the N1 does.....
I don't think "comes out first" really matters. if the Incredible is behind the n1 release by 2 weeks, does it really matter?

final secs will be the deal breaker for most people, as well as the in store support. but the possibility of a larger battery has got me well over on the Incredible side of things.

Yep, without specs, no way to make the decision. Aside from the optical trackpad, nothing here is blowing my pants off. Not thrilled with less RAM, but not killer. However, if it's 3.5" LCD then I'm pretty much pushed towards the Nexus One because I won't settle for less than the 3.7" AMOLED in the Nexus One and upcoming Bravo. No chance. I am a little put off by the size of the phone in relation to the display, too. Lots of real estate north and south of the screen. Either this thing is 3.7" and longer than your typical cellphone, or it has a 3.5" screen. I'm leaning towards the latter which is an absolutely deal breaker for me. Disappointing, especially if we have limited support options for the Nexus One.

I think the Legend might still be in the mix too though we don't know what carrier. I'm with VZW and I think I'll take whichever comes out first. I think my first choice is the Incredible. I essentially want the size and performance specs of an overclocked droid, only with HTC Sense and no slide out keyboard...

HTC Legend spotted just hanging out, playing it cool -- Engadget

I'm just gonna speculate and say that it won't be coming to VZW just based on the similarity to the Incredible. But I definitely like the aluminum look of the Legend over the Incredible.

To me it looks exactly like the N1 with the same amount of wasted external space.

It just doesn't have the same grey two tone look and the corners aren't as rounded.

I actually like the look of the N1 better (aside from the optical trackpad), and I hope it has the same kind of backing the N1 and hero has. I also don't think we should jump on the ram is too small bandwagon yet either.

I don't think HTC has made a 3.5" phone recently, so either it would be a 3.2" (which they have been making as every other android phone from them pre-N1 has that), a 3.7" OLED screen (which seems to be the only size they have for OLED right now), or a 4.3" LCD (which would be a joygasm as the HD2 fits in a pocket perfectly). It doesn't look like a 4.3" screen, and it looks too large to be 3.2" screen.

    Pros & Cons so far:
    Nexus One:

    Pros:
    512mb RAM
    Snapdragon Processor at full 1GHZ
    Removable Battery

    Cons:
Possible chance of no discount for Family plan (Verizon)
    Google Customer Support

    HTC Incredible:

    Pros:
    Family Plan discount
    Verizon Customer Support

    Cons:
    256MB RAM
Possibly no removable battery(I can't see how that back plate would come off)
Possible lower clock speed of the Snapdragon processor (http://droiddeveloper.com/verizon-has-something-incredible-up-their-sleeves/)

Overall I think they are both great phones, I personally like the Nexus one better because I like the look of the phone and I prefer the UI to htc sense. The biggest factor for me comes down to price. If I will have to pay full price for a Nexus one, then I will get the Incredible. I can forgive the incredible for low RAM specs mainly because I plan to only hold onto my next phone for a year. At that time I hope something will be out that will match these specs:
    3.7in screen or larger
1.5ghz dual core cpu (Next version of snapdragon processor)
    1g ram & rom
    verizon 4G (LTE) access

Let's say the specs are the same on both phones, then for me the N1 would have the big draw mainly because I would expect to get OS updates quicker. Sense is great, but I'd rather have the next Android OS. The Hero seems stuck on 1.5 because of sense.

Right now, nexus one because of sheer looks and 512ram. The look of the Incredible just can't beat the Nexus. And hey, the second that the Incredible comes out, Sense will be ported to the Nexus.

You're right, at least, about the bottom of the phone, but side-by-side, the Incredible still has more real estate above the display. The Nexus One does soften the length by rounding the edges so it appears the Incredible is probably just a little bit longer. With such a squared-off design, I have no idea what the need is for all the dead space above the display, especially since the ear piece is right on the top edge. Anyways, see attached for the side-by-side. I scaled one of the pictures so the display area is comparable.

for me, i'm waiting for some specs on how thick the incredible is. if it's thicker than the droid, then i'm getting the n1. if it's as thin as the droid or as thin as the n1, then i would take the incredible. dayam..all these new scoops on phone makes the waiting ever so long!!!

During the engadget show with a cheif U.S. HTC designer, the designer was asked why US versions of HTC phones get dulled down in the looks department. At the time I watched it, I didn't really get the question but now I do. Seeing the Bravo and assuming the Incredible is the U.S. Bravo, I kinda ask the same thing. Why not use the same style as Bravo instead of a phone that from the front really just looks like the absence of style (all black)? Just seems like a lot of effort to unnecessarily adapt a design to the US market.

The Bravo is all black. I mean its all all black. The only difference between the Bravo and Incredible are physical buttons. For that thank the Iphone. Everyone now likes touch screen controls.
This is why I like the red back of the Incredible. Bold with texture.

I want to say I'll buy which ever comes first, but another big factor to me is going to be service if needed and being able to sample the phone at VZW.
    + for the incredible

That may be but 4 out of 5 blog phanatics choose the Bravo over the Incredible (bottom of this thread). Not that it really matters, to each his own but I for one don't want my phone looking like the iPhone, front or back. Too bad in this day'n age one can't be picky. I shall consume the first snapdragon Sense UI VZW phone that enters my peripheral vision.

Please STOP posting misinformation. You have no idea what the new phone will have inside. You cant create your own reality and believe that it is real. Thats not a way to live life....
