A friend of mine has a Chinese branded HTC Tattoo. That phone has a really cool input method where you can "draw" the letters on the screen. The version i have seen handles English and Chinese characters transparently without needing to switch input methods.

Does anyone know if this is downloadable as an app, or what this is?

I can't say I'm familiar well that input style, but a company called Access came up with a way to use the Graffiti style input with Android, which would require you to "draw" the letters instead of typing them.

You can search with Google's Gesture Search.

If you don't have a helpful answer, please don't bother to reply. I'm looking for an input method, as my original post made clear.

Your response is completely unrelated to my question.

Before I discovered the Swype keyboard, I used a graffiti-like app called MobileWrite. It allowed you to draw letters on the screen for input, and select from different kinds of graffiti type modes.

Here's a link to the free trial:

The thing your friend has is called HTC cime and its pretty cool, has great t9. you'll have to copy some extra libraries over to your phone if its not an htc to a protected folder that requires root. if you can't find it on google I might have it laying around somewhere and could upload it for you so let me know
