Is there any way I can extract the .apk for an app I downloaded and installed from the market?

So I can store the .apk on my PC

If you install Astro you can backup your apps to sdcard from the tools menu.

Am I right in assuming this wont work on paid apps?

I'm pretty sure paid apps work as well.

There's an app called 'mybackup', if you're rooted it can backup your apps with the .apk and data.

Unrooted, it will save the market links and data, I may be wrong.

I think it works with paid apps if you got them from some place other than the market.
