    Hi everyone...

I've rooted my Desire and now I want to install app2sd using (How To Root Your HTC Desire & Add Apps2SD Nimbu).

At this step: "Go back to the Recovery Console main menu and select Reboot system now. While rebooting, unplug the Desire from the USB port", when I try to reboot, my htc desire is froze on the htc boot logo (didn't even go to quietly brilliant part) when starting up. I've tried to unplug the battery and reboot, but it still freeze... And I've tried to redo Install App2SD too., but it didn't help...Note:mybootloader version is 0.80 and I root my desire using (14/Jun r6 riskfreeroot - HTC Desire rooting guide - now with HBOOT 0.80 and OS to 1.21 support - Android @ MoDaCo). So actually when rooted, I didn't use recovery-windows.bat...

Can anyone please help me... Thank u very much

I had the exact same problem. The 2 guides are incompatible with each other.

As advised to me, I recommend you go through the modaco 14/jun guide start to finish.

Then install rom manager. Download the modaco 3.1 htc desire rom to your SD card.

    http://android.modaco.com/content/h...ustom-rom-for-htc-desire-with-online-kitchen/

Theres an option in rom manager to flash from SD card. Use that and point it to the 3.1 rom on your card. This has Apps2sd built into the rom.

Then follow the first guide from:

    • Remember to have backed up your normal sdcard before proceeding, as the next step will wipe all data from it.

    1. Turn on your phone while holding the volume down button.
    2. You will see HBOOT on the screen.
    3. Use the volume buttons to move up and down and power button to select the RECOVERY option.
    4. You will now see a red triangle on the screen, at this point plug your phone into your PC via your microUSB cable.
    5. Double click on recovery-windows.bat inside the pushfiles_windows.zipfolder you unzipped as part of the root process.
    6. Using the optical trackpad select Partition sdcard > Partition SD
    7. Select SWAP=0, EXT2=512 and allow the rest to be FAT32.
    8. Select the SD:ext2 to ext3 option in this menu.
    9. Go back to the Recovery Console main menu and select Reboot system now. While rebooting, unplug the Desire from the USB port.
    10. And thats it! You now have a rooted Desire with apps2sd. Get in!

    Hope this helps.

    really thank's, danfrance

I've already installed r3.1-bravo-desire-modacocustomrom-withadditions-a2sd+-signed.zip to my phone. But I dont think that app2sd+ has already been installed. Coz I can't see the app but the other app is there (such as navigator etc)... How do u know wether app2sd has already been included or not...

Its there, but its not an app. You can't see it or open it or anything. All you do next is partition the card as per above and when you install apps, it just does it on the card.

I don't know of any sure fire way to check it.

But I can tell you, I have 51 apps installed and 102MB of internal memory free still.

It will still reduce. Just not as quick. Elements of the app will still need to be on the phone memory

Try going to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and flick through some apps and see if the 'Move to SD Card' is Highlighted/available and whether it moves or not. About the only way I can think of checking

P.S Is this A2SD FroYo style or the old Style?
