Are you SURE there is nothing in the market?

If you use AIM, try 'HiAIM'.

I am currently using Meembo because Gtalk does not support Yahoo like it does AIM. Then I realized that I don't talk to anyone on Yahoo, so might as well use Talk...

My question though is does Talk work with AIM contacts like Gtalk does on the desktop? I can't seem to get it to show my AIM contacts on the Droid.

You need to use a jabber transport protocol. GMail is already a jabber client, so you shouldn't have any problem there. I'm using jaim.at to transport my Yahoo IMs into the Talk app. You can transport MSN, Yahoo, and AIM.

The only bad thing is, once in a while I'll get notifications in Talk about emails I receive to my Yahoo account. If you want to find out more info, look up an app called PSI also.
