Sorry if this is explained somewhere else but I couldn't find it.

The instantroot.apk keeps failing on my Hero yet the only people who are supposed to have problems with this are T-Mobile users, correct?

I've got plently of space on my SD card (over a gig), my build number is 2.73.771.73, and i've got an unlocked orange(soon to be o2) sim in it.

I really want to see what I can get from rooting my phone so if anyone could help me i'd be very grateful!

This is the most recent H3G (3 UK) ROM if I'm not mistaken.... anyone else with a 3 UK handset successfully used InstantRoot?

Hey guys. I think 3 users / those with the three ROM will have to use the Goldcard method (long! )

Have a read at this at let me know whats what.. I will update my guide then.

HTC Hero on the 3 UK Network - Android @ MoDaCo

So you have a few options. Goldcard method ... or downgrade to Cupcake firmware for the rooting ... Read this thread for ideas..

    thanks
