    Hi all,

I have just purchased Apex Launcher and find I have to rout my phones, any advice on how I should do this on my international (UK) Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. Never routed before.

    Thanks

I think it only needs root for widgets.
CF-root is the way to go

It installed but widgets couldn't be placed on home screens. I have rooted it now and the program works fine.

Thanks so much for the support.

You can add widgets on apex without root, you just long press on a home screen and select widgets from there instead of the app drawer.

But now you're rooted you can do other cool stuff like custom roms and root only apps :)

Don't know a lot about ROMs other than receiving a taste of official releases early. Is there more to it?

Depending the ROM, there is loads of added extras... Such as themes, "kitchens" to downloads extra content/apps, bloatware removal etc...

read the rom description (usually post #1) and you'll get an idea off what each ROM offers...
