Root [International] PhilZ CWM Recovery - Dummies Guide

For the last month or 2, every time i flash a zip in philz, I get a message saying using legacy property environment, please update binary.....or something along those lines.

It doesn't seem to effect the process, and flashing the zip still works. It has happened on several philz versions, and with different roms.

Anyone know what this means and why it's happening?? Is it a known bug?

PhilZ update-binary for quite some time now includes the latest commits to the CM kernel.
Once such commit introduced a new parameter to the format command, and this was the reason for a long time, you had to flash certain zips with an older version of Philz, or manually update the updater-script.

Philz checks the version of the update-binary in each individual zip you flash, and will tell you if an old one is being used. Its just an information thing, and is probably intended as a nag for devs to update the zip with the latest update-binary.

Oh sorry,I thought we were just adding random numbers now ;-) :p

Looks like the peasants are revolting! :secruity:

"CWM future

This could be the last updates to PhilZ Touch, except maybe a few minor fixes if ever needed
Currently, CWM has no more any official CM maintainer. They seem to be migrating to the new stripped CM OEM recovery

I now stopped contributing actively to official CWM because of this. I do not plan to maintain CWM on my own as it is a huge task.
My time in real life is also being very short

The death could last a few months, maybe more, but probably could be final on next major cm update unless someone takes it in hands

I did not decide if I am leaving this project or if I will port my changes to new recovery-cm sources to continue things. In all cases, it will take months before I can port things if I ever do

I apologise if this is a stupid question but after installing cwm and rom manager and then doing a nandroid back up it ended on a screen showing this.

ROM may flash stock recovery on boot

THIS CAN NOT BE UNDONE

-NO
-NO
-YES -Disable recovery flash
-NO
-++++++Go Back+++++++

Which should i chose?? I assume it's yes but you know what assume does.

hello everyone

Sorry for my bad english school.
I'm French and I do my best :)

I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8020) that was delivered with jelly bean from the operator Orange in 2013. I upgrade to KitKat with odin and everything is perfect.
Just one problem with Rom Manager when I do a backup.

Same screen as above (quote). with this shade, After the first "Go Back" another screen appears with these choices:
- No
- Yes - Fix root (/ system / xbin / su)
- Go Back

I do this:
@ ironass: Just select, "- + + + + + + Go Back + + + + + + +". Then, When rebooted, go into ROM Manager and Reboot into Recovery.

But this does not fix the problem.
I'm always in the same loop. First Screen , second, etc..

Recovery is CMR v6.0.2.8

Can you help me?
I don't know what are the consequences if I answer "Yes" to the first screen.
If I don't know, I don't touch

Thank you for your help.

I ask a quick question here in hopes to be given the answer or directed to where to post the question.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 with "philz_touch_6.41.6-d2lte.zip" installed on it and I been having problems with setting date, time and it used to give more descriptive name for the backup now says no noname when I back up. I had hell of time to finally figure out how to at least have to right date but still lost on getting the rest on the setting right. I dont think it setting the correct time either. Any help would be appreciated as this my first time working with the philz.

One of the things that separates the International All Things Root forum from others on here is the little snippets of information that are imparted along with the Android related questions and answers. Today's word is...

Bad-tempered, argumentative, and uncooperative:
