A website that I need to monitor for my job won't work on my phone. It says internet explorer 5.5 or higher required. Is there anyway I can get this to work on my phone. I have tried all the other browsers on the market with the same result.

Have you tried switching off mobile view in the browsers you're using?

Are you allowed to share the link?

My mobile view is already off. I don't know if I can share it or not. When i open the page on my computer it just has a sign in box in the middle of the screen.

You need to switch your browser's user agent, although I'm not sure how you can do that. Most browsers only let you switch between PC/Android/Iphone and don't give you a specific IE option.

The only exception to that is the vanilla gingerbread browser, which has an IE6 useragent, but I don't know if the same is true for the HTC gingerbread browser.

It might be possible to do it with 3rd party browsers too, I'm not sure. I found an extension for the android firefox browser that claims to let you spoof useragents, but I can't get it to work.

Oh hang on, I got it. Download the firefox browser from the market, go to the preferences and search 'useragent' and you should see a result called 'Phony'. Install that and it adds a user agent option to the browser preferences, which includes internet explorer.

That should trick the website into letting you in, although there's no guaranteeing that the browser + webpage will be 100% compatible, obviously.
