Does anyone know how to change the internet icon so that when clicked instead of looking for the HTC site it goes straight to google or whatever homepage people wish?

Within the browser press menu then more then settings
From here you can set the home page to whatever you want

Open the browser and choose menu --> more --> settings. Under there you will find set home page, thats what you need to change.

Thanks guys but after exiting it still defaults to htc for some reason? I can make the change as suggested but can't see a save button.

I have just tried it and it works fine for me.

Chose set home page and typed in "http://www.google.co.uk and pressed ok.
Then it actually says "http://www.google.co.uk" under set home page on the settings page.
Next time starting internet it goes to google.co.uk fine.

Hmmm how odd. I have been doing exactly the same as you. Thing is, I have been back spacing out of it thus leaving the htc page on reconnection. However when I use the arrow on the bottom of the phone then it does indeed start up with Google. But, does this mean the internet is always on? Cheers.

    Yes and No.
The internet app gets parked in an idle state and does not use any data if you use the back arrow to close it, if you use the home button it multitasks and runs in the background but shouldn't really use up too much data after the page has loaded.

But in general the internet (your connection) is always connected but it only when you actually send\recieve data when it will come out of your allowance.
