I will take "summer!" I just hope the resale value of my Hero doesn't drop too much until then!

That's what I'm saying. Mines a week old tomorrow and I was hoping to sell it for 300 bucks or so.

As of right now all it says on the sprint site is that it will be available in the summer.

It's always tough to sell an outdated phone for that much. I've never gotten more than $100-200 for a phone online since not many folks would pay full price for one after they become outdated.

My Touch Pro was barely used when I got my Pre but I couldn't get any good offers. Ended up trading for a 32GB iPod Touch (which I may sell to fund my Evo :) )

My Pre has a small crack in it so I'm not sure I could get much for it either, especially since they really fell in popularity as the bandwagon moved on to bigger and better things.

I sold my orange Curve 8330 in Dec that was a month old for 200 on Craigslist right as the new curve was coming out. On ebay used Hero's are going from 250-350.

Sprint has Anymobile any Time (AMAT) So you will not need ROLLOVER minutes. AMAT is free calling to any Mobile phone in america:D

Not to mention a lot of people I've come to realize will pay a decent price for a phone just avoid the contract they would have to sign with sprint to maybe get it a 100 bucks cheaper. Just saying.

    I'm jealous... seriously...

HTC EVO 4G is Sprint's Android-powered knight in superphone armor, we go hands-on -- Engadget

fock... look at that thing (although I could do without the popsicle stick stand... looks like in the video, it's loose and "falls"... not good)....

I like that it's TFT too! Frankly, i'm not super impressed with my Nexus AMOLED after a couple month's use..... too reflective... and useless in daylight....

foooooooooooooooooooock..... I DON'T WANT to go to Sprint.... buuuuttttt...........arrrrghhhhh!!! :D

Yeah I had a blackberry with sprint with the 450 minutes and unlimited data but
I lost it in January and my contract wasn't up until May so I have been holding out praying that sprint would come out with a good enough phone that I could use to possibly sell my iphone.. I might not sell but I won't need an outrageous at&t contract.

    BUT WHY NOT!!!!!!!!!!
I don't realize why people will not switch if they have Sprint coverage

because Sprint sucks... and like I said, I like having a SIM in my phones, so I can easily and painlessly swap to another device I have... for a spare, for when I don't want to bring my smartphone to a risky place (concert, bar, ski slope, etc.)... my hatred of CDMA will overcome my desire for the Evo 4G... :p

besides, there will be a time when this thing will have a GSM/LTE cousin.... just waiting for that day... :D

See I hated that. I used to work for TMobile and I hated SIM cards. Sure what you say is nice but it also makes it easier for people to get a new phone by swiping yours and putting their card in it. Plus cards go bad, get lost etc and then your phones useless. Yes it works by turning on but you cant do jack with it.

I have never and will never like the use of SIM cards.

one of the most interesting features on the EVO 4G is the "front facing 1.3MP camera"... video calling/chat/IM finally a possibility??

of course the WORST feature is : "NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile(SM)" .... I guess the rednecks will be happy...

Because Sprint sucks where you live? Or Is it just something that people say when they had Sprint a long time ago?

And how often does that happen? Living in Europe, we use GSM, and I've never lost a simcard, never had one go bad. And when I get a new phone, I just keep my SIM, so the one I have is at least three years old, no problems. My last one was even older (switched carrier, that's why I got a new one. Could still use same phone as well). And when I go abroad, I can just get a cheap prepaid sim.

Apart from myself, I don't know anyone who's had issues with SIM's, so it can't be that big a deal.

    2 questions i have:

    1) are those buttons on the front haptic feedback ones? i'm assuming so, but not 100% sure.
    2) the specs list talks about sprint navigation. does that mean we won't have google navigation?

I'm still torn between a Nexus One or the Supersonic now claimed 'Evo'. Both are GREAT devices with current hardware, song with the most recent OS with all features enabled. That's one thing my Moment kind of leaves me wanting.

    -edit-

....says the hypocrit posting from his phone. Lol.
