    Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to invert scrolling so that you swipe down-to-go-down and up-to-go-up instead of the way it is by default: up-to-go-down and down-to-go-up?

The only reason it's a problem for me is that I have a laptop and use two-finger-scrolling on the trackpad (down-to-go-down/up-to-go-up). This means that when I switch from one to the other, I keep trying to go the wring way with my swipes. Confusing. :D

I looked through all of the settings on the phone and tried googling and looking through the available apps but to no avail.

    Any help would be appreciated.

And I'm in Australia with Vodafone. I bought the phone unlocked and put my Vodafone sim in it.

Haha, I feel you on this. It took me while to get used to it; it was like playing a game without being able to invert the Y axis - which in the past has kept me from buying games.

I always invert the y-axis on games too but this isn't quite the same. It's not really a matter of getting used to it. Every time I switch from my laptop to the phone or vice-versa, I end up trying to scroll the wrong way.

When you're using a laptop trackpad and you want to scroll down you swipe down, but in android you need to swipe up as though you are grabbing the page and moving it up so you can see what's further down. Both are intuitive and I have no complaints about either method.

The problem is the inconsistency going from one to the other. You'd have the same sort of problem with the position of the CTRL keys when switching back and forth between a mac keyboard and a pc keyboard. You'd keep hitting the wrong keys.

I had this problem with my Mac when I installed Ubuntu on it. But with Ubuntu I was able to configure the keyboard to behave like a Mac.

There should be configuration options for scrolling - speed, acceleration, sensitivity, and inversion. Not sure why there isn't.

But, if there's not - being based on Linux - maybe it's possible to modify a text file somewhere? Does anyone know more about where config options like this might be kept?

Three and a half years later after the last post and there's still no software to uninvert page scrolling!

I will contact Launcher Pro developers, as their deeper level of coding is the appropriate level, and see if they are open to the idea of making this new feature a part of their product.

To help the exposure I moved your thread to the forum frequented by developers.

Good luck contacting Launcher Pro's developer - that app's been abandoned for a couple of years! In fact it looks like their website has finally gone down (their forum has been a free-fire zone for spam for more than a year now).

In any event, the only bit of scrolling behaviour that's controlled by the launcher is the app drawer. System menus, and other apps, are outside the launcher's control. To change this behaviour globally I reckon you'd need to get inside the android OS, i.e. it's a ROM-level change.

In fact, since Macs were mentioned earlier in the thread, recent OSX versions use the "inverted" (or as they call it, "natural") scrolling by default, to make it consistent with iPhones/iPads (and, as it happens, Androids). Though personally I find that utterly unintuitive when scrolling on a trackpad, so it's the first thing I change.

I was tempted to suggest Nova Launcher Prime and did not for the very reasons you identify. What seems to be being asked is an new Android option.
