I don't have an iPad so i can't compare. The only thing i have is an iPod Touch 3rd Gen. And i'm running the Dolphin browser.

As you can see, this is how i browse. I take full advantage of tabbed browsing, and open ALL the sites one after another. When i'm done loading the last one, i got back to the first tab and start skimming through it, and then go to the next tab, which should have finished loading by then and so forth. (On my PC the middle mouse button gets heavy use)
There's a bit of stutter on the tablet because the rest of the sites are being loaded in the background. However, the *ENTIRE* length of each of the pages are loaded and ready to scroll. And it'll do it smoothly once all the elements are loaded (which would be by the time i get to it)
I do this when searching in google and just keep opening the links in new tabs. And then go to each tab for a quick check if it's what i'm looking for, close it, and move to the next.
I can't do that on my iPod. When i try doing that, either the page is reloaded when i go back to the first tab (meaning it had stopped loading when i left it earlier, and so have to wait for it to finish loading), or the one i'm currently browsing scrolls but i get a gray screen outside what's currently shown on the screen.
Even when the page is finished loading, if i scroll too fast, i still get the gray screen.
What i'd like to know is if the iPad still has these issues. All the demonstrations on youtube only show single pages. And not really showing tabbed browsing.
