My galaxy s is going back monday morning and i'm having an iphone 4 instead, swapping them at the door, I also have a 3gs and think it is much better than the laggy/buggy galaxy overall apart from the screen!

Honestly, if you're lazy like my 16 year-old, go with the iPhone. If you're like mine, you probably don't have the patience and understanding to work through some of the challenges that you may encounter with a non-dumbed down device. I hate to say that about my own kid, but it seems that most kids these days just want everything handed to them and they can't be bothered with trying to figure out anything on their own.

It's nothing to do with being "lazy" the iOS is simply better because it just works, you don't get all the bugs, freezes, lag, memory problems, storage problems like you do with the samsung galaxy s and android,

And the main thing for me is the appstore and android market, the appstore is a million times better, you have every major developer and company making games/apps for the iphone, certainly can't say that with android.

And gaming on android (a big thing for me as a gamer) is a joke, the same games look and run better on the old iphone 3gs, it was upsetting to see when i got my samsung last week! farm frenzy, settlers, raging thunder, doodle jump, nova, etc,
I spent hours gaming on my iphone 3gs and loved it, so much to play, I was shocked how cr*p the gaming scene is on android.

Same with apps, facebook, ebay, twitter all look and run better on iphone 3gs. i'm guessing the android SDK isn't very good or is very basic?

The customization and options were great on my samsung s but what's the point when the rest is a huge let down? a 1ghz

    Thanks for the reply!

I did ask about trying the same model but Vodaphone are now refusing to replace ANY samsung galaxy S models as they said "there are known issues", once current stock has gone they won't re-stock until the issues are fixed so looks like it is a big problem!

I got the GPS working but you have to go into the options and turn it off then back on everytime you want to use it!

It was good to try the "android OS" but it has made it totally clear for me now, stick to apple, the iOS, iphone and the appstore!

FK I think you need to talk to trading Standards. Because the phone has known issues (which I am also experiencing on T-mobile) they can't just say tough get lost. You have consumer rights and Vodaphone need to deal with it.

ip4 is for simpletons and galaxy s is for geeks

    To add on:
Backing from google- Apple (no antenna problem)
Better dev community - apple really doesn't have one
    mobile hotspot- enough said
widgets- no need to waste time opening an entire app
play flash in browser (embedded not some crappy white boxes)
    - plays DIVX files
    - super AMOLED screen is pretty nice
    - has HDMI out using micro usb
    - widgets
    - swype keyboard
    - microSD for extra storage
    - true multitasking
    - tethering right out of box
Don't like your keyboard, change it.
Don't like your browser, change it.
Every function requires 3rd party software - it can't be used as a mass storage device - so you have to sync with iTunes (or equivalent) to get any data on the phone. If you don't sync, you can't backup what is on the phone.
Android market, 75% apps are free, Iphone market, 75% of apps are paid.
    Slide cover for micro-usb.
    More than one button.
    User replaceable battery.
Upgradeable memory for a fraction of the cost.
    1. Easier app creation (number of android apps will eventually pass up iphone apps).
    2. Multitasking actually works.
    3. Better customization (live wallpaper; widgets).
    4. More options than you can shake a stick at
    1. Good display ratio for wide screen films and 4" screen. (iPhone is square outdated.....)
    2. Easy to load videos on, no need for iTune's , just plug drag and drop on any PC. (iPhone frustrating restrictions on iTunes and limited versatility)
3 .Can play back MKV natively ! and several misc. xvid, divx, avi. (same as above)
    4. Can display external and internal subtitles(with appropriate player app from market eg. "mVideoplayer") (no alternate options of playback software on iphone)
    5. Comes with integrated 16GB and ability to add another 32GB Micro SDHC (witch i personally have done) 48GB of Media entertainment.
Gorilla glass >> pwns >> "stupid aircraft " glass in toughness.. OOO so many people chipped their glass on first drop ^^
better GPU, a bigger screen, and more vibrant colors

mooseolly: you don't need another video player for subtitles, just update to 2.2.1 and the Samsung video player supports them :)

Doesnt ever happened on mine. Maybe some problem with the service provider on your side?

    @ Topic

IMO if the choice was between Iphone4 and Galaxy S then it was somewhat fair. But Iphone 3gs seems outdated compared to Galaxy s?

Having said that why dont you tell us your requirement like what you exactly want in the phone (Games, Navigation, Music or anything else) so that people maybe able to suggest you better.
