    Engadget likes it

    and so do the others...

Look at the pics taken with the iphone in the Gizmodo review :)

I gotta say I'm a bit surprised at the pic and vid quality... looks better than the Evo :(

I have to admit, this is the best iPhone yet...

If only it wasn't on ATT. I'm thinking of jumping ship, but 2GB isn't enough for me.

Give it a couple of days. Should be amusing to see the complaints roll in.

But good for Apple to get it out. Real competition in the handset market, we all win.

If the screen was larger I'd be tempted.
    Wait....AT&T....nevermind.

I would not give up my EVO for it... Like was posted above, give it a week and watch all the complaints pile in...

Then give it a month until people get their data bills... Netflix? Better not use it... Pandora? Better not use it.. MLBTV? Better not use it....

2 GB is NOT much if you use the device for other than phone, texting and light internet use...

How much longer does AT&T have over iPhone exclusivity rights?

Can you teather that thing to a PC... either wirelessly or USB??

Probably would be dumb to do with the 2GB limit anyway.. just curious. I often burn over 2GB/mo without teathering.

I love how he says "this may not be "true" multitasking for a lot of us, but it amounts to multitasking for most of us. That is, it looks, feels, and acts like multitasking, so it's pretty tough to complain about it". WTF. The phone looks nice but it needs a bgger screen and leave AT&T. I really want it now because now i can change wallpapers. Yippee Folders!!!
Evo and the sprint plan no one here can deny that's a deal.

The iPhone is in its 4th generation so Apple has gotten time to fix the things that were flawed from the previous gens. The design of the new iPhone is artwork :) but that's not saying the Evo isn't. Still a nice phone but just not as sleek as the iPhone. The Evo's recessed Power button is a minus in my book.

Your power button is recessed? Mine isn't.

There are always pluses and minuses!

They did a fantastic job with the Iphone4 , and honestly I think it's a superior piece of hardware (minus the smaller screen, even how good it looks) and it's a fantastic looking phone. But the OS is nowhere near as good as Android IMO , lets just say if they offered this phone with Android and VZW or Sprint I would have considered it lol

It's an outstanding piece of hardware. It's only flaw, which renders it irredeemable, is that it's running IOS4 instead of Android.

    Engadget:

This is a big one for many people, and we have some fairly surprising news to report. The battery life on the iPhone 4 has been outstanding thus far, exceeding our expectations for longevity during testing. We've only had a short time to use the phone, but in the week or so we've been carrying the device as our main phone, we've had pretty amazing results under normal to heavy use. In fact, we managed to squeeze more than 38 hours -- yes, 38 hours -- of life out of a single charge using the phone as we normally would. We're talking calls, some gaming, lots of push email and calendar invites, playing music over Bluetooth in the car, and just general testing (like downloading new apps, rearranging icons, tweaking settings). We went from 10:30AM on a Saturday morning till 1:00AM on Monday without needing to charge the phone. Of course, it switched itself off just after the clock struck 1, but it was thrilling -- like that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer and the car salesman see how far they can get in a car with the tank on E. Sitcom references aside, the battery life seems markedly improved in the iPhone 4, and why not? It's got a much larger battery coupled with that iPad-powering A4, which has already shown that it can sip rather than gulp power.

My Evo would be lucky to last 12 hours o_O

iPhone may be the best marketed/hyped smartphone ever. But "best" smartphone? That's just a matter of opinion.

I will believe when the REAL reviewers, customers, start complaining about it.

There is one thing the iOS4 does well and that is smooth, buttery transitions. The Evo seems superlaggy compared to the well defined OS4.

Not only is it hard to push down, it's just angled wrong. You cannot seriously say that the Power button is positioned correctly. Try hitting that button with a case on. You'll understand what I mean :)
