One thing I kind of miss about my Incredible is it had an optical touch pad that let me move the cursor around for relatively-easy text editing.

The Fascinate does not. This sucks...and to further that blow, I went and played with a Samsung Captivate and it has the same cursor-drag text editing as the iPhone has (where a magnifier or whatever pops up and makes it easy to see where you're moving the cursor to).

So if the Captivate had this, why doesn't the Fascinate?

Does anyone know of a possible third-party app that allows this sort of functionality?

I just bought Ultra Keyboard after looking for a number of alternate keyboards. But Ultra Keyboard has cursor keys that can be used for precise cursor positioning. I think it works very well.

Swype has cursor keys too...which I've used for now to suffice.
